Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry

In the division of analytical and bioanalytical chemistry, faculty and research groups are actively engaged in developing new measurement strategies, methodologies, and instrumentation to help solve contemporary analytical challenges in the biological and environmental sciences.  Research in our division spans a range of analytical sub-disciplines, from mass spectrometry to spectroscopy to electrochemistry to separations.  Specific areas of focus include, MALDI-MS imaging, proteomics, metabolomics, atomic mass spectrometry, nanoparticle analysis, chemometrics, fluorescence and Raman spectroscopies, super-resolution microscopy, lab-on-a-chip, microfluidics, electrochemical sensing, digital PCR, magnetic ionic liquids, gas chromatography, and DNA extraction.
