We develop new computational approaches to study chemical reactions and biophysical processes.
The Sun group develops computational methodologies and apply them to tackle outstanding chemical and biophysical challenges. The research areas in the group include characterizing the kinetics of chemical reactions in gaseous and condensed phases, developing dynamics simulation programs enhanced with machine learning, and modeling realistic cellular membranes and understanding their role in pharmacokinetics. The group currently works on atmospheric chemical process, high-performance fuels, catalytic systems, and membrane permeation.
