Muhammad Azhan, Chemistry Ph.D. candidate in the Kovnir group and President of the Graduate and Professional Student Senate (GPSS), has been appointed to the 12-member committee tasked with identifying finalists for Iowa State University’s next president. The committee—composed of students, staff, faculty, alumni, and regents—will work with AGB Search to present finalists, following President Wendy Wintersteen’s planned retirement in January 2026.
“I am honored to represent graduate and professional students in the selection of Iowa State’s next president,” said Azhan. “This is a pivotal moment for the university, and I look forward to working collaboratively to ensure the process reflects the values, aspirations, and spirit of our Cyclone community.”
