Thank you for your interest in the Chemistry PhD program at Iowa State University. We hope you enjoy your visit, and learn all you need to know to make an informed decision about your move to Ames, Iowa to continue your studies with the Department of Chemistry.

Choosing a graduate school is one of the most important choices that you will make and Iowa State is among the best in the country. We have one of the largest and best graduate programs in the United States.

Research is the focus of our graduate program and we have a renowned and well-funded faculty with whom you can choose to study with for your Ph.D. degree. Our goal is to help you learn about the most modern research techniques and to think creatively about solutions to major scientific problems.

We offer traditional and interdisciplinary programs in analytical, bio-related, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry with a special “chemistry” major designed by the student and their major professor.

  • Abstract: This session offers the opportunity to choose from various peer and colleague led facilitated activities focused on wellbeing. Participants will engage in a wellbeing activity with others, learn about resources to support their wellbeing, and discuss ways they can prioritize their wellbeing going forward. Self-care and community-care are necessary for restoration, healing, and wellbeing. Creating a culture that prioritizes community, belonging, and wellbeing takes all of us. Join us to learn some new strategies and resources you can use in your everyday life.
