Abstract: TBA
Bio: James Hodges is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Penn State. His research focuses on the discovery and synthesis of new inorganic solid-state materials, with particular interests in chalcogenides, multianion materials, thermoelectrics, and understanding relationships between crystal structure and physical properties. His group uses synthetic chemistry and materials characterization to develop strategies for controlling composition, structure, and ordering in complex inorganic materials. Hodges earned his B.S. in Chemistry from Rider University and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Penn State. He subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at Northwestern University and worked as a senior scientist in the New Materials Group at Honeywell UOP before joining the Penn State faculty.
