Joey Luther

Bio: Joey Luther is a Senior Research Fellow at the National Laboratory of the Rockies, where he leads research at the intersection of materials chemistry, nanoscience, and renewable energy. His work focuses on developing next-generation semiconductor technologies using quantum dots, perovskites, and other solution-processed materials to enable more efficient and affordable energy conversion and develop new optoelectronic energy technologies. .
Dr. Luther earned his Ph.D. in Physics from the Colorado School of Mines and has been a pioneer in the development of nanocrystal-based solar cells. His research has contributed to multiple record-setting photovoltaic devices and has advanced fundamental understanding of quantum dots, perovskite materials, and charge transport in semiconductors.
Through a combination of materials design, spectroscopy, and device engineering, Dr. Luther's group seeks to develop clean-energy technologies that address global energy challenges. He has authored hundreds of scientific publications and is widely recognized for his contributions to solar energy research and nanomaterials science
