Bio: Emil Hernández-Pagán is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Delaware. His research focuses on the synthesis and characterization of functional inorganic materials, with an emphasis on nanomaterials, catalysis, renewable energy, and environmental remediation. By combining advanced materials synthesis with a broad range of analytical and spectroscopic techniques, his group seeks to uncover the fundamental mechanisms that govern the formation and function of complex materials systems.
Dr. Hernández-Pagán earned his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez, and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Pennsylvania State University. His research has contributed to advances in nanomaterials, photoelectrochemistry, and energy-relevant materials, helping to bridge fundamental chemistry and real-world applications.
