Bio: Gordon Miller joined the Chemistry Department at Iowa State University in Fall, 1990. He served as Department Chair 2002-2004. His research has encompassed Inorganic and Solid-State Chemistry. He continued to teach graduate courses in Solid-State Chemistry and Chemical Group Theory and first-year courses in General Chemistry.  His last lecture will be May 2nd. 

Background: B.S. Chemistry, summa cum laude, University of Rochester, 1982, Ph.D. Chemistry, University of Chicago (with Jeremy K. Burdett), 1986; Post-doctoral Associate, Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research (with Arndt Simon), Stuttgart, Germany, 1987-1990
