Dr. James A. Rudd, II, UCLA

January, 1999 - August, 2001. James received his Ph.D. in Chemistry (with a specialization in chemical education). He is now a post-doctoral student working with Dr. Arlene Russell. He is investigating using the science writing heuristic with Molecular Science's Calibrated Peer Review. HE is also involved with UCLA's teacher education program.

Evaluating the interactions of student pairs exhibit while wokring through the electrochemistry CD, student testing, and analysis of software. Co-major Professors: Dr. Tom Andre and Dr. Brain Hand. Sandra Franzen

August, 1995 - May, 1996. Chem 399. Development of a multimedia instructional lesson on how a FT-IR works and how to operate a FT-IR. Writing story boards so that a computer programmer and computer illustrator from Engineering Animation, Inc. can develop software. Evaluation of the effectiveness of this approach by comparing students who use the software to students who receive traditional instruction about the FT-IR. Topic: FT-IR.
