Robert J. Angelici, Distinguished Professor of Chemistry, received
his B.A. in chemistry from St. Olaf College in 1959 and his Ph.D.
from Northwestern University in 1962. He has been a fellow of the
Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and is past chair of the Organometallic
Subdivision of the ACS Inorganic Division. From 1977 to 1981, he
served as chair of the Department of Chemistry at ISU. In 1985, he
was chair of the Division of Inorganic Chemistry of the ACS, and in
1987, he was a Royal Society Guest Research Fellow in England. He
was awarded the Governor's Science Medal in science teaching
(1989). In addition to coauthoring more than 340 papers describing
research done in his group, he wrote the laboratory text Synthesis
and Technique in Inorganic Chemistry and edited Reagents for
Transition Metal Complex and Organometallic Syntheses, volume 28 of
Inorganic Syntheses.
