The Des Moines International Airport is located in the south west portion of Des Moines. It serves to many major airlines, and taxi service is available to Ames. If you wish to drive yourself to Ames, there are several rental car establishments in Des Moines. You can expect a 3/4 to 1 1/4 hour drive from the Des Moines airport to Ames, depending on traffic. The BCCE confrence will also be providing a shuttle service from the airport. The service will be provided through Midwest Transportation.
