Several workshop leaders have requested last minute changes in their schedule and their fee. Some of the tours have has last minute schedule changes. We are at this hour making the last minute corrections. Once we put the program up live and allow folks to register we can't make changes. I have a meeting today at 11 am with the folk involved with the workshop and another meeting today at 3:30 pm with the folks involved with the tours and social events. At these meetings we will go over the entire program and try to make sure everything is in order. We believe we can post the live link on our web site by 4:00 p.m. today. 5:00 pm at the latest.
Thank you for your patience.

Continnuing Education Units ***NEW***Posted July 8, 2004

The Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are uniform units of assessment that measure individual participation in non-credit continuing education. Adults may use these assessment units for quantitative measurement, recording, reporting, accumulation, transfer, and recognition of participation in a variety of non-credit continuing education activities. CEUs are not normally used to measure participation in traditional academic course work, however some courses may be offered for both credit and non-credit. ISU offers one CEU for each 10 hours of approved participation in a recognized event.

Participants of the 18th BCCE can sign-up for Continuing Education Units when they check-in at the registration desk of the conference. The fee should be $10. We cannot do on-line registration for CEUs for the 18th BCCE.

Due to a number of factors, arranging for CEUs was one of the last things that we did for this conference.

Structuring CEUs for a conference is complicated process. We have arrived at scheme that will (hopefully) simplify the process. If you want CEU's, pay the fee and we will issue you a form to fill-out during the conference. You must keep accurate track of each session you attend and you must obtain a signature from the presider, organizer or workshop leader of each session you attend. We think we can offer 1, 2 or 3 CEUs depending on how many hours of sessions you attend. More details will be available at the 18th BCCE Registration Desk when you check-in.

Connecting Your Personal Computer to the Iowa State University Network

Conference attendees will have internet access for their presentations if they use the conference computers (PC or Mac) that are connected to the multi-sync projectors in each symposia rooms in the Scheman Building, Gilman Hall, or the Molecular Biology Building. There will not be internet access through the Iowa State University network for personal computers, whether on campus or in the symposium rooms. The public wireless network at Iowa State University verifies staff or student status at the University in order to successfully connect to most network resources (wireless or wired)

Symposium presenters are encouraged to use our on-line system to electronically transfer their presentation to us prior to the start of the conference. We will load your presentation on our conference computers. Alternatively, we encourage presenters to bring their presentation on a USB micro-drive or on a CD.
